In this endeavor, molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based sensor coated on screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) for the detection of chlorpyrifos (CP) has been reported. Incorporation of Cobalt oxide (Co 3 O 4 ) nanoparticles have enhanced the response of the SPCEs as compared to the unmodified one. The polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of the template molecule has exhibited the detection of CP of the order of parts per billion (ppb). Electrochemical properties of the developed sensor were characterized by means of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), respectively. In its first phase of development, the SPCEs coated MIP based sensor was found to distinguish different concentrations of CP successfully and exhibited a linear range from 0.1 ppb to 100 ppb of CP. Selectivity studies also revealed that the sensor can detect the target analyte efficiently in the presence of other interferents. These results paved the way for the further advancement of the sensor regarding the detection of CP for real-time applications. |
