Popis: The mean objective of this paper consists to find a mathematical model linking the disruptive voltage of a non-uniform electrical field air gap rod - plane with insulating barriers under very severe pollution conditions and that of a plane - plane system sprayed with water droplets at 50 Hz alternating voltage, whose the air gap distance is variable. Experimental device for simultaneously varying the distance between the electrodes and between the barriers, was manufactured. The visualization of the electrical disruptive path of the two systems is essential to support the disruption tests of these systems. The results emanating from the experimental study have shown the existence of a perfect equivalence between the configurations rod - highly polluted barrier - plane with water drops and plane - plane sprayed. This analysis allowed us to establish a mathematical model showing the equality of the breakdown voltages of the systems mentioned air gap under very severe pollution conditions.
