Use of Li(1-x) Mn2O4 Phase as Li-Ion Battery Cathode

Popis: | A set of Li1-xMn2O4 type compounds was synthesized by chemical delithiation of LiMn2O4 spinel. Different concentrations of HCl aqueous solution were used to perform the lithium extraction process. Eight Li1-xMn2O4 phases, in which x can take values between 1 and 0, were obtained and characterized by RXD, SEM, IBA, Rietveld and Bond Valence analyses. Also, an electrochemical study was performed; obtained phases were assembled as a positive electrode in a Li-ion rechargeable system. Cyclic voltammetry of seventy five charge-discharge cycles shows better behavior of some of the extracted phases. However no relation between electrochemical behavior and extraction level was found. |
