Popis: | Using an external cavity semiconductor laser coupled to an additional empty cavity, optical pulses on the order of 100 ps duration at repetition rates of 1-2 GHz have been generated. The pulses are obtained by careful adjustment of the length of the auxiliary cavity to match that of the main cavity and do not require any modulating signal to be applied to the laser diode. |
