Popis: | This project focused on the investigation of the short-term behaviour of connections with 4, 6, 8 and 10 threaded steel rods bonded-in parallel to the grain of glulam timber and loaded in axial tension. The joints were designed with the intent to achieve the yielding failure of the rods while optimizing the cross-sections with an equal stiffness of the timber members and of the steel rods. In parallel, experimental tests and a finite element analysis (FEA) were conducted to determine the impact of the variability of the strength of the rods, the impact of the tightening of nuts and the impact of the stiffness of the load-transferring devices on the load distribution, on the behaviour of the joints. |
