Popis: | This paper presents an Epanet-compatible toolkit for water distribution systems’ (WDS) simulation that uses the looped Newton-Raphson simulation method in combination with High Performance Computing (HPC) to harness the computational power of current multicore processors. The toolkit enables substantial reduction in computing time with respect to Epanet, especially important if we take into account that during the last 20 years no code for water distribution systems’ simulation (WDS) has significantly outperformed Epanet's computational algorithms. The development of the toolkit required overcoming some difficulties arising in the context of the loop method, and also applying HPC to selected tasks within the simulation. |
