Popis: Novel hybrid TiO2/CNT/Pd was successfully synthesized via a simple one-pot method in supercritical CO2/EtOH medium. The morphology of the heterostructure showed spherical Pd-doped TiO2 nanoparticles with a particle size of about 10 nm on carbon nanotubes. Surface Pd metallic particles were in the 0.5–1.5 nm diameter range. These properties of TiO2/CNT/Pd, together the BET area (168 m2/g), absorption threshold (λlim= 496 nm) and band gap value (Eg= 2.5 eV), were translated into remarkable enhancement in the photodegradation of neonicotinoids thiacloprid, imidacloprid and clothianidin under simulated solar radiation. Specifically, after 180 min of photocatalytic treatment with TiO2/CNT/Pd, complete degradation and high mineralization of the insecticides were achieved. Compared to commercial TiO2 P25, its enhanced photocatalytic performance was mainly imputed to both the widened light-harvesting range due to SPR effect of Pd and the superior charge separation due to electron-sink function of CNT. The removal efficiency remained over 85% of that of unused catalyst after eight reuse cycles and no change in its structure was observed. Further, the photocatalytic performance was barely affected by the presence of background species present in a real wastewater matrix. Overall, a promising photocatalyst for effective degradation of emerging pollutants with the assistance of solar light was obtained.
