Popis: In this paper, superplasticity ofTi-5Al-4Sn-2Zr-lMo-0.25Si-1Nd (Ti55) alloy has been studied. Samples were tested at temperature ranging from 900°C to 1000'C,and at strain rate ranging from 10 -4 s -1 to 10 -2 s -1 . An elongation value over 540% was obtained at strain rate of 1.0×10 -4 s -1 and 960°C. Soft phase of Nd 3 Sn is formed because Nd is added into this alloy, during superplastic deformation, the soft Nd 3 Sn accommodates sliding strains to reduce the probability for cavity at grain triple junctions and, thus, delays the fracture process, and at the same time Nd 3 Sn is elongated.
