Popis: | AISI 410SS is one of the widely used martensitic steels. Tramp elements present in this steel segregate during tempering at prior austenite grain boundaries, which reduces the cohesive strength and results in intergranular cracking. Quenching and partitioning heat treatments stabilize minutes of austenite at room temperature. This reduces the segregation of tramp elements after prolonged aging and yields four to five times higher toughness compared with normalized and tempered steels. Thus, it provides resistance to cracking. |
