A new zeolite, possibly related to zeolite Phi, has been synthesized in an organic system by modifying the procedure of Jacobs and Martens for the synthesis of zeolite Phi. 1,2 A more siliceous zeolite, designated LZ-276, can be produced from the same synthesis gel by varying crystallization temperature. Ultimately, a Phi-like zeolite was synthesized in a totally inorganic system with properties similar to LZ-276. This product was designated LZ-277. The chemical and physlcai properties of LZ-276 and LZ-277 are presented and compared to the product described as zeolite Phi by Grose and Flanigen 1 and others. 2,3,4,5 |
