Popis: | We analized the radiological results and the secondary changes of the acetabulum of 86 hips in 83 patients who were treated by weight-relieving abduction braces or by operative procedures. The average age at diagnosis was 7 years. The average follow-up period was 5.6 years, and all reached primary healing.Good results were found much more in conservative group than in operative group, but in Catterall group 3 and 4, there was no difference in results between conservative and varus osteotomy groups.Acetabular deformity was severe in poor result group and acetabular roof angle and acetabularhead index were not increased at follow-up.In conclusion, containment therapy for Perthes' disease should be done at early stage because the containment therapy at late stage with severe deformity of the femoral head may lead to deformity of the lateral edge of the acetabulum. |
