Popis: Flysch, of Aptian to Turonian age, crops out south of the Yarlung-Zangbo (Brahmaputra) river, in southern Tibet between the Gangdise batholith to the north and the Xigaze ophiolite to the south; the latter is part of the Indus suture zone that can be traced for more than 2000 km into the Ladakh Himalaya of India. The aridity of the Tibetan climate ensures near total exposure of the flysch which extends over a region averaging 20 km in width and more than 900 km in length.
