Popis: | The accumulation of dietary nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu) in rat organs and tissue, and their excretion were determined periodically. The rats were fed diets supplemented with NiCl2 (1000 ppm as Ni) and CuCl2 (100 ppm as Cu) for 4 weeks, and then a basal diet for 3 weeks.Ni accumulated in the liver, lung, kidney, brain and muscle at one week of the supplemented diet, but Cu could be found only in the liver. With the basal diet, Ni in these organs and tissue decreased rapidly, except in the brain. Liver Cu also decreased. The fecal excretion of dietary Ni and Cu decreased to the level of the control group in about one week with the basal diet. No significant increase in the accumulation of Cu due to the supplemented diet nor decrease in the urinary excretion of Cu even on changing the diet could be detected. |
