Enhanced thermoelectric properties of (Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3)1−x−y (PbTe)x(Zn4Sb3)y by combinatorial screening

Popis: | The effects of doping Bi 0.5 Sb 1.5 Te 3 thin films with PbTe and Zn 4 Sb 3 were studied using a combinatorial approach. We demonstrate the structural and thermoelectric properties of (Bi 0.5 Sb 1.5 Te 3 ) 1 − x − y (PbTe) x (Zn 4 Sb 3 ) y thin films grown with varying concentrations of PbTe and Zn 4 Sb 3 , for 0.012 x y x = 0.036 and y = 0.011. The lowest electrical resistivity was 1.17 (m-Ω-cm) at x = 0.0254 and y = 0.006. The compound with x = 0.0254 and y = 0.006 showed the highest power factor (12.57 μW/K 2 -cm). The effects on the thermoelectric properties of these materials are extremely important for understanding the fundamental characteristics of (Bi 0.5 Sb 1.5 Te 3 ) 1 − x − y (PbTe) x (Zn 4 Sb 3 ) y embedded thermoelectric composites. |
