This paper presents the design of a 2x4 rectangular patch antenna array for 5G Applications. The antenna array is designed using Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 as substrate with height 1.575mm, dielectric constant of 2.2 and loss tangent of 0.0009. A prototype of the single patch element and the eight-elements array are manufactured to validate simulated results. The single inset-fed patch antenna attained a gain of 7.6 dB while the antenna array exhibited a peak gain of 16.2 dB. The 10 dB bandwidth of the array covers from 3400 MHz to 3520 MHz, making it suitable for Band n78 5G access points application. |
