The influence of doping Y 3+ on the photo- and thermoluminescence of PbWO 4 is reported in this article. Doping Y 3+ in PWO can strongly suppress the red light emission so reduce the slow emission component. Defects such as F, F + , Pb 3+ and O − centers due to the WO 3 volatilization during the growth can be compensated by doping Y 3+ , which is reflected by the thermoluminescence (TL) curves. It is observed that the TL of Y 3+ doping can largely suppress the TL bands peaked at 210 K (below RT), 389 K and 461 K (above RT) but enhance the TL band peaked at 107 K which can be considered as the (WO 4 ) 3− –Y 3+ center. |
