Popis:	In contradiction to an earlier report we have found that chromium pentoxide etherate solution oxidises tetraphenylcyclopentadienone to a known keto-lactone, which can be obtained more efficiently by chromic acid oxidation; we have been unable to prepare the earlier claimed peroxide.
