Synthesis of 123mTe-nucleophiles: Potential use in the synthesis of new 123mTe-radiopharmaceuticals

Popis: Elemental powdered tellurium and sodium borohydride react in water or ethanol to give sodium telluride, sodium hydrogen telluride, or sodium ditelluride depending on the ratio of the reactants used and pH of the medium. These inorganic telluride and ditelluride anions prepared by this new reductive solubilization method can be utilized in nucleophilic displacement reactions to introduce 123 m Te in situ into organic nucleophiles or chemically-stable 123 m Te-labeled dialkyl tellurides which are potential new diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals.
