Popis: The reversible relaxation spectra for FeNiP and FeNiB metallic glasses were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. While the relaxation spectra for FeNiB metallic glasses have earlier been shown to be well described by an exponential function, those for FeNiP glassy alloys are qualitatively different. The latter spectra assume significant values at low activation energies where they are negligible for the FeNiB glasses. At higher activation energies, the spectra for FeNiP decrease or at least remain constant (depending on the Fe Ni ratio). Thus a maximum appears in the relaxation spectrum for these amorphous alloys. Similar differences can be observed between the relaxation spectra for binary NiP and FeB glasses. It is the type of metalloid that seems to determine the shape of the reversible relaxation spectrum.
