Popis: | The reversible relaxation spectra for FeNiP and FeNiB metallic glasses were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. While the relaxation spectra for FeNiB metallic glasses have earlier been shown to be well described by an exponential function, those for FeNiP glassy alloys are qualitatively different. The latter spectra assume significant values at low activation energies where they are negligible for the FeNiB glasses. At higher activation energies, the spectra for FeNiP decrease or at least remain constant (depending on the Fe Ni ratio). Thus a maximum appears in the relaxation spectrum for these amorphous alloys. Similar differences can be observed between the relaxation spectra for binary NiP and FeB glasses. It is the type of metalloid that seems to determine the shape of the reversible relaxation spectrum. |
