Large-scale political. economic and social changes in the Eastem European countries are opening up new and different view-points on the role of science and technology. An appropriate national development strategy in this field is especially important for technologies with infrastructural influence. such as information technology or control technology. Slovenia is regarded as the most developed of the former socialist economies and is now a new and independent European state. Therefore problems, experiences and opinions related to the development of control technology in Slovenia, such as are expressed in this paper, may also be valuable for other countries. In the paper, a concept of a control technology development frame-work is introduced which is based on a holistic approach, taking into account different activities, problem areas and areas of implementation. |
