Popis: With the OM 642 engine, Mercedes-Benz engineers have developed a high-quality, highly compact V6 passenger car diesel engine which, thanks to its conception and design, now replaces the previous 5- and 6-cylinder in-line engines in all vehicle model series. Its compact design also means that a 6-cylinder diesel engine can now be used in the C-Class for the first time ever. Although the engine complies with current Euro 4 emission limits even without a particulate filter, a particulate filter is installed as standard in many parts of Europe. Large-scale investment in the production of this engine at a Daimler-Chrysler plant in Berlin shows clear commitment to Germany as a production location.
