Popis: | 38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 1092-1095 In this paper, we present an overview of various commercially or R&D available c-Si solar cell concepts and find the most suitable technologies for space applications. First, we use a three-dimensional device simulation tool and fit a SRH recombination model that best predicts the relative degradation of a known p-type and n-type solar cells upon proton irradiation with various energies and fluences. Then, the resulted SRH recombination parameters are used to predict the degradation rate and end-of-lifetime (EOL) performance of various cell technologies for any given space mission providing as input the equivalent proton and electron fluences. Based on this study, we are able to indentify the properties and key design features of c-Si cells most suited for use in space applications. |
