A class of planar crossover with embedded multi notched bands is presented. It is based on a multi-stage-branch-line-type crossover with one-port split-type multi-notched-band filtering cells that are connected at all its ports. The theoretical principles of the proposed co-designed crossover/multi-notched-band RF device are detailed for the dual-notched-band case. Moreover, for practical-validation purposes, a microstrip prototype of triple-notched-band crossover is developed and tested, in which a compact-size one-port coupled-multi-line interdigitaltype triple-notch filtering stage is exploited as split-type cell. It exhibits optimized crossover performance between its two first notches in terms of input-power-matching and power-isolation levels between non-connected ports—i.e., 1.69–2.27-GHz spectral range—with an additional upper out-of-band notch at 2.84 GHz. |
