Popis: | We present a semiclassical expansion up to order ℏ 2 for the one-body density matrix in one spatial dimension of a confined Fermi gas by considering a more general situation where the associated one-body Hamiltonian contains a position-dependent effective mass. As a follow-up to the result, we obtain a semiclassical expansion of the time evolution propagator for the case where the Hamiltonian contains a position-dependent effective mass and an arbitrary smooth potential. For the case of a Hamiltonian with a constant effective mass and for possible applications in density-functional theory, we report a unifying scaling law for spatial dimension. d = 1,2,3,4 |
