Popis: | The Distributed Control System (DCS) contains more than one Remote Control Units (RCU) for effective control of process. The conventional Module bus technology is used to incorporate the control over the different controllers in order to achieve a robust, reliable and sophisticated network. But the main problem associated is high wiring cost, limited channel capacity of I/O Module, low speed and complex interoperability. Due to the above reasons, open communication architecture based on IEC 62734 concepts are proposed in this research work. The physical and data link layers of the OSI Model are modified as per IEC62734 standard. Mapping of the proposed model architecture with existing communication protocol has been discussed. From the result analysis, the proposed model gives superior performance in terms of channel capacity, cost and maintenance as compared with the popular Module bus communication. |
