Popis: Research into university learning and teaching is generally intended to suggest ways of enhancing students’ experiences of studying and the quality of their learning. To gain a fuller understanding of the complexity of the processes involved, research has adopted contrasting perspectives and differing levels of analysis. This article looks at these varying approaches to research to illustrate complementary strengths that can provide a fuller understanding of the influences on how students learn and academics teach.
