Preparation and ionic conduction property of polycrystalline Eu2+ $beta;$Prime;-alumina

Popis: Polycrystalline Eu 2+ or Eu 2+ -Na + β″-alumina were prepared by ion-exchange method in molten slats or vapor phase of appropriate chlorides. The experimental results of SEM and EPMA showed that heterogeneous distribution of Eu 2+ occurred in the specimens beyond the equilibrium state. The conductivities of all completely exchanged samples were more than 1 × 10 −3 S/cm at 300°C. Thermal stability of Eu 2+ β″-alumina was satisfactory in reduced or inert atmosphere but reduced in the presence of oxygen.
