Thygeson’s superficial punctate keratitis: Case report and literature review

Popis: Introduction The purpose of this report is to describe a case of Thygeson superficial punctate keratitis treated with hexamidine 0.1% eye drops. Methods Case presentation and literature overview. Results An 11-year-old patient was diagnosed with Thygeson superficial punctate keratitis and was successfully treated with hexamidine 0.1% eye drops after failing of traditional treatment. An overview of the etiology and treatment of Thygeson keratitis is given. Conclusion Our study is the first to report the use of hexamidine 0.1% eye drops as treatment for Thygeson superficial punctate keratitis. Further research is necessary to investigate the causative agent and optimal treatment for this disease.
