Popis: | Construction and installation works in areas with a cold climate require welding to be accomplished in conditions of negative temperatures. In these conditions the thermal cycle of welding changes significantly. This leads to changes in the structure and properties of welded joints. The present paper compares the properties and structure of welded joints from low-alloy steel obtained at positive and negative temperatures. A change in the macrostructure of the facing seam was observed in samples welded at negative temperatures. A decrease in impact strength of the weld metal and an increase in the dislocation density in the heat-affected zone and in the weld metal were also revealed. |
