Popis: | Peritreme is a groove, a gutter, or a segmented structure consisting of connected chambers on the surface connecting to a stigmatal opening. In the family Caligonellidae, peritremes are composed of interconnected chambers on the dorsal surface of the stylophore, and the peritrematal arrangement and configuration are used to recognize the genera within Caligonellidae. This study reports the presence of intraspecific peritrematal variations in some adult female specimens of Caligonella haddadi Bagheri & Maleki collected from Turkey. In the species, any variations have not been previously reported. This is the first time that the variations in arrangements and shapes of peritremes of C. haddadi have been recorded. |
