Popis: The objective of the work is to develop the method for the comprehensive determination of all parameters to be determined at the key stage of designing of steam heat pump using system using genetic algorithm to maximize the thermoeconomic effectiveness and to develop the calculation method for the prevention of early convergence and enhanced global search efficiency in the calculation of genetic algorithm. We have presented a comprehensive optimum designing method for the determination of the number of heat pump, cooling power and operational load of each pump, kind of coolant and refrigerant and mean difference of temperature in the heat exchanger in the way of minimizing the sum of manufacturing and operational cost in which thermodynamic irreversible loss for each of 3 coolants (R22, R134a, R717) had been considered. And we also have presented a new encoding method that ensured precise and brief expression of determinant variables of genetic algorithm and the new calculation method that facilitated the prevention of risky early convergence and enhances the search efficiency by adjusting the crossover probability according to the diversity of population and the change of the number of evolution generations in the paper. Finally, we could save 30–40% of annual expenditure for the vapor compression heat pump using system than before.
