Popis: Die Bibliothek Warburg und ihr Ziel is a conference held by Fritz Saxl at the Warburg Institute of Cultural Sciences during the academic year 1921-1922, and published in 1923 in “Vorträge der Bibliothek Warburg 1921 – 1922”, edited by Saxl himself (Bd. 1, Leipzig/Berlin 1923, 1–10). In presenting the Library, Saxl exemplifies the particular approach to the history of the survival of Antiquity, on which the Library and the Institute of Cultural Sciences are based, through the figures of Venus and Eve and their representation in different ages.
