Popis: | A novel class of matrix polymer based on amorphous crosslinkable aromatic polyamides has been developed. These polymers possess an attractive combination of good moisture resistance, high glass transition temperature ( T g ) and reasonable toughness. The polyamide synthesis utilizes the ring opening reaction of bis(2,2′-diphenic imides) with multi-functional aromatic primary amines at elevated temperatures. The mechanical properties of the resultant polyamides are strongly influenced by the ratio of imide to amine. Optimum properties are obtained with a non-stoichiometric ratio of 1:1.2 equivalents of imide/amine. |
