Popis: | Mass transport leading to changes in stoichiometry has recently been reported in YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 (YBCO) thin films after prolonged exposure to DC current below the critical current density at temperatures below the transition temperature. These results imply a serious obstacle for high current applications. In this paper we have searched for stoichiometric changes after passing a high DC current through an epitaxial YBCO film by probing the region of interest using electron microprobe analysis. No significant changes in stoichiometry, nor in transition temperature, room temperature resistance, critical current density or morphology were observed. |
