Lubrication is often used to improve a product’s reliability or enhance the life of a tool. However, a poorly designed lubricant, or one that is introduced by error into a critical area, may reduce the reliability of an end-product. This scenario is of special concern when considering the use of lubrication for crimp tooling. A crimped connection has both electrical and mechanical performance which is required to ensure a properly functioning end-product. This work explores the possible implication on the mechanical and electrical performance of a typical die lubricant when used in a crimped connection. |
