Popis: The U.S. Air Force proposed to construct a permanent Patriot Ground-based Air Defense (GBAD) battery location at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, to support two Patriot GBAD batteries. The two locations discussed in this report are two of the alternatives being considered in the Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) for the Patriot GBAD project. Because the proposed project includes federal funds and lands, it qualifies as an undertaking under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), U.S. Code (USC) Title 54, Section 306108 (54 USC 306108); therefore, an identification-phase cultural resources survey of the project area was planned, and completed in October 2016, to comply with Section 106 regulations. The survey is also being completed to support the EIA process.
