Popis:	Summary Maize seedlings can metabolise the herbicide simazine, which is the reason for their tolerance. It was shown, that the hydroxylation of simazine in this plants takes place very intensive. Metabolism of the side chains and rings of the applied herbicide was observed. During the breakdown originate at least four metabolites. The carbon-fragments from simazine degradation are breathed in part or used for biosynthesis. A scheme for degradation-way of simazine in maize seedlings was postulated for discussion
