Popis: Publisher Summary REACH is the new EU regulation governing the registration, evaluation, and authorisation of chemicals. It puts the onus on industry to analyze the substance composition of virtually all products manufactured or used. It also puts the onus to work with chemicals suppliers and regulatory authorities to make sure that every substance (not just new substances) is properly registered and, as applicable, evaluated, authorized, and/or restricted before any substances or finished products are put on the market in the EU. The REACH requirements mainly target companies that manufacture chemicals. Certain REACH provisions do not apply to the use of substances in cosmetics, but REACH does contain provisions directed towards producers and importers of substances, preparations , and articles as well as the downstream users of substances and preparations. Under REACH, the manufacturers and the importers of a vast range of substances made or brought into the EU in quantities of over one metric ton per year will have to register their substances with the new European Chemicals Agency.
