Popis: | A detailed treatment of gas−laser operation is given in the rate−equation approach. One running mode and one standing mode operations are fully developed and analytical formulas are deduced for the gain and the dispersion curves. While well known, this method suggests itself for its simplicity and for its good agreement with experimental results. The aim of the present paper is to give the final form of analytical formulas, i.e., the nonlinear Voigt profile. Furthermore, these formulas turn out to be a good starting point in a deeper investigation of the nonlinear dispersion relations, because the only approximation used here is in the interaction model, while the analytical treatment is not perturbative. The modified Kramers−Kronig (MKK) relations are, in fact, satisfied for running−mode formulas. |
