Popis:	The properties and characteristic reactions of thioacylating reagents 1 are described. These reagents are able to introduce thioamide linkages into a growing peptide at a specific site in the sequence. The generality and efficiency of this methodology is demonstrated by the synthesis of the three monothioanalogues of tuftsin.
