This paper describes the problems bounded to the driving assistance system on real vehicle and the possible solutions. A driving assistance system consists in improving the road safety, helping the driver in its activities : to plan the manoeuvres, to control the actions on the vehicle as steeling wheel or acceleration, and to increase the observation abilities. A driving assitance system involves some scientific problems as the definition and integration of a perception system, the localization of the vehicle, the situation representation, the situation diagnosis, the decision, the interfaces with the driver. All this topics are developped and will be illustrated by the demonstrator Prolab2 carried out in the Prometheus program. |
