Popis: | A study was conducted to evaluate the mechanical properties of the orthorhombic alloy Ti-22Al-23Nb (atomic per cent) produced via powder metallurgy processing. Pre-alloyed powder for the study was produced by argon gas atomization, consolidated by hot produced by argon gas atomization, consolidated by hot isostatic pressing, and given various heat treatments. Room temperature tensile tests, elevated temperature tensile tests and stress rupture tests were conducted. The microstructures which resulted from the various heat treatments were characterized. Test results showed that the powder metallurgy product compared favorably with the reported properties of conventionally processed Ti-22Al-23Nb. |
