Popis: In this review, we cover a systematic study on the effect of electrodeposition time for the growth of Cu2O film with morphological control. Measurements on the as-prepared Cu2O films demonstrated that the surface morphology depend on the grain shape. Based on the electron microscopy observation, the surface grains of Cu2O film showed shape evolution associated with the time of crystal grow. The possible mechanism of film color change from saffron yellow, orange, red to brick red controlled by crystalline quantum size is firstly studied systematically. Moreover, models are set up to discuss the evolution of the morphology and color, which indicate that the morphology and colors were deeply influenced by deposition time and the size of the crystal grains.
