Popis: 1. 3-Phenyl-1,3-oxazolidine undergoes oxidation in O2, the reaction following a radical-chain mechanism with second-power chain rupture. The peroxide radicals preferentially attack the C2H bond in the molecule. Rate constants have been determined for chain extension and rupture in this reaction. 2. The oxazolidine peroxide radicals (RO2.) function only as oxidizing agents. As a result, the value of the inhibition coefficients for the various free-radical reaction inhibitors are close to those predicted theoretically. Rate constants for the interaction of RO2. radicals with five inhibitors at 40°C have been determined.
