Popis: Gastrointestinal hemorrhage (GIH) is a common medical problem that is associated with considerable morbidity, mortality, and medical costs. The initial approach when GIH is suspected depends on a patient’s clinical stability, which will vary depending on the amount and speed of blood loss. Therefore, if time allows, the initial evaluation should include history, physical examination, laboratory tests, and, possibly, nasogastric tube placement.
