Popis: Transverse facial cleft (TFC), Tessier number 7, is a rare congenital anomaly commonly associated with other anomalies of the first and second branchial arch with varying severity. Risk factors such as alcohol abuse, folic acid deficiency, and ingestion of herbal concoctions in pregnancy have been implicated in this deformity. We report a case of a bilateral transverse facial cleft in a newborn and review the existing literature on the condition to increase awareness and knowledge.
