Popis: Three-phase partitioning (TPP) can purify, concentrate and preserve protein structure. TPP is versatile, purifying proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, pigments and oils. TPP concentrates target proteins by separating the target protein from water and increases the specific activity of target enzymes by separating undesirable proteins. TPP can improve the yields of purified enzymes often accompanied by increases in enzyme activity. TPP can be combined with affinity ligands to purify specific proteins. TPP can decrease the time taken to renature denatured proteins or renature recombinant proteins from inclusion bodies with excellent recovery of activity. TPP should be considered an essential technique to explore when undertaking the isolation of proteins, carbohydrates or oils.
