Popis:	The paper focuses on a clinical case of a complicated course of Meckel's diverticulum in a 27-year-old patient; the disease was manifested by signs of iron deficiency anemia, without signs of overt or latent bleeding. A brief review of the literature presents major features and potential complications of Meckel's diverticulum. Special attention is paid to specific diagnostic options. The authors discuss the need for surgical removal of uncomplicated Meckel's diverticulum.
