This paper aims to study the impact of the implementation of Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) on an extended number of overhead lines from the Romanian Power Transmission Grid. Dynamic Line Rating comes handy for the current trend of widespread adoption of renewable energy into the main transmission grid, which may be subject to severe variability. DLR may prove to be the gaining technology, when large capacities are needed to transit the transmission grid, for covering the renewables’ inadequacy. |
