Popis:	This paper describes an intelligent robotic system designed to operate in an assistive technology environment in the aid of elderly and disabled people at home or in a caring institution, to improve their quality of life, giving them more independence from humans for carrying out trivial tasks which, in turn, releases the human helpers to concentrate on the more nurturing aspects of care. Details of progress, to date, are provided.
